Beechmont Landcare and the Fifth Dimension

The Beechmont District Landcare Association (BDLA) together with a bit of help from the Scenic Rim Regional Council (SRRC) have excelled in putting a nice booklet together called “Living in Beechmont”. Believed to be distributed earlier this week to every home in Beechmont. Created by a band of enthusiastic volunteers, with much love for the environment on the Beechmont Plateau. If you haven’t seen it as yet, get your hands on a copy from a nearby info centre. Lots of useful reading and beautiful pictures. A big hurrah for the people who have put this together!

And if you fancy the good work of Beechmont Landcare, join their next meeting on Thursday evening 6 April 2017 – Commencing 7:30pm at the Hall on Graceleigh. There will be some interesting stuff coming over the floor.

Cultural Trails of the Scenic Rim – 2017

Our very own Scenic Rim Regional Council has published a sweet little booklet featuring Open Studios and Events during 2017, called “Cultural Trails of the Scenic Rim”.  No, no walking trails or bike trails but rather a collection of local artists presenting their work for our viewing pleasure. You can pick up your copy from the libraries, Council Offices, Tourist info centres and of course the Beechmont Coffeeshop.

Beechmont and Canungra come out in 2017 with three entries and open studios on 3 & 4 June 2017:

Canungra – Erica Bates
Beechmont – Dave Groom
Beechmont – Wendy Trulson

Beechmont Press Club

The Beechmont Press Club met last Thursday night 23 February 2017 to celebrate a thousand likes on the Beechmont Community Network Facebook page. A milestone to be proud about in the 6+ year history of the page. The page was once setup by Dan McKenzie and now has an active team of editors contributing Beechmont related content.

Janis Rossiter, secretary of BRASA, introduced Loretta Serong as the new BRASA marketing coordinator. Loretta will look after the BRASA Facebook Page and the BRASA website, and has now also joined the editors team of the Beechmont Community Network facebook page. Loretta is studying marketing at Griffiths Uni.

With a strong team of contributing editors, there will be plenty to read in the coming year. If you have any news or gossip to be published, you can post it yourself on one of the facebook pages or send it to
