Smart Growth Business Workshop – June 24 9.30am-12.30pm, Logan & Albert Hotel Beaudesert
This is a workshop specifically designed for businesses, organisations and households that are already improving their eco-efficiency and reducing their carbon footprint and want to know how to do more.
In a relaxed and informal setting with lots of conversation, practical activities and case studies we’ll connect eco-efficiency with resilience and innovation in ways that will help you to prepare for change, uncertainty and emerging opportunity in your business, industry and community.
This workshop will:
- Help to reframe your understanding of what a healthy business and economy look like in ways that include sustainability, resilience and smart growth
- Apply smart growth principles and practices to your own business, organisation and household using practical tools, skills, case studies and knowledge
- Inspire and motivate you with real life examples and case studies from businesses, communities, economies, cities and countries from around the world.
Our world of business and enterprise is changing rapidly. The Global Financial Crisis has had a major impact on small businesses and local economies and has highlighted many of the threats we now face. However, within those threats are emerging exciting opportunities for small businesses and local economies if we pay attention and take early action.
Scenic Rim Regional Council and the Ethos Foundation invites you to join other proactive business operators for a morning of stimulating, relevant conversation and practical activity that will support your planning for your business future – now.
Facilitator is Dr Sally MacKinnon from the Ethos Foundation. Sally has operated her own small business in the Scenic Rim Region for over 15 years and is one of the Ethos Foundation’s founders and consultants. The Ethos Foundation is a not for profit enterprise specialising in sustainability education, local living economy and sustainable small business: www.ethosfoundation.org
