Artists and crafters actively weave the fabric of Beechmont’s creative community life not only through their beautiful work but with their ability to inspire us all with their enthusiasm for this place. We have many artisans in our midst and we thank them for their involvement in Zest. It’s a real pleasure to help them showcase their wonderful wares in the Zest market. Beechmont has two crafters groups and many emerging artisanal enterprises. One of the aims of Zest and the Beechmont Business & Enterprise Network (BBEN) is to help connect our crafters in ways that give them collective strength and visibility. Zest Crafters Market
Zest Craft Coordinator – Wendi Trulson wendiofthetreasure.wordpress.com/ My name is Wendi Trulson and I am a textile artist, mother, keen gardener and cook (too many caps at times!). My family of 4 lives in a beautiful spot on Beechmont plateau. I have a passion for felting and dyeing (both with Nature Botanical and Acid Chemical). Living on acreage gives me heaps of scope for collecting material for botanical (eco) dyeing. Felting on silk or material is called Nuno felting and I use Australian merino wool roving.
“Natures Turin” botanically dyed silk Created from dyeing silk with natural plant or vegetable based dyes and recycled objects, ensuring that no two pieces are the same. Each dyed scarf brings a new original colour, print or pattern creating truly unique one-off organic accessories! Eco friendly and sustainable,
This is a redeployed scarf, Nuno Felted and makes use of what already exists. Op Shops are your friend and great for the environment too. |
